WP 6000 - Capacity Development in DELIGHT

Objectives

Both capacity development and trainings make up key components of the DELIGHT project. They not only support an internal and external project network but also the general develop-ment of the project. Furthermore these key components support the establishment of an excel-lent bilateral cooperation including the exchange of technical, methodological and, last but not least, cultural skills. When people, especially whoever is directly involved, think about the problems occurring in the delta of the Yellow River, capacity development and trainings are highly appreciated transactions in terms of consciousness-raising and public relations. Here, the aim is to carry out capacity development and trainings on institutional, scientific and pri-vate dimensions. So, the bilateral relations, regarding geoscientific co-operations, between China and Germany can be actively vitalised, extended and strengthened.

In general, the measures of capacity development within DELIGHT are directly involved in the WPs. Planned training events and activities cover the following topics:

• WP 2000 - Geodata management, remote sensing applications and algorithms, GIS, spatial acquisition of field data
• WP 3000 - Remote sensing algorithms, interpolations, in-situe measurements, spectrometry
• WP 4000 - Modelling applications and methods, hydrological and morphodynamical in-situ validations
• WP 5000 - Remote sensing applications and methods, CA-Models and modelling, in-situ field campaigns and socio-economical surveys
• WP 6000 - Coordination and evaluation, translations of the project's training activities
• WP 7000 - IS-sytems design, web services, data integration, conception and installation of hardware
