DLR held 3rd DELIGHT System User Training in Dongying, June 2015

From 8th to 10th June, 2015 DLR successfully held the 3rd user training at Sustainable Development Research Institute of the Yellow River Delta in Dongying City/Shandong Province. 10 course participants were registered in this training. Besides the host institute, there were also 4 other institutes participating in - including IGSNRR, National Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve Bureau, Land and Resource Bureau, and Bureau of Transportation in Dongying City.

The course was a well-balanced mixture of theoretical lessons and practical sessions. Training topics ranged from OGC standards, Metadata, QGIS and ArcGIS digitizing and mosaic manipulation, spatial database, front end and backend data ingestion tools, further error diagnosis, encoding, and map projection. During the training, users not only got in-depth guidance on how to use the DELIGHT system but also familiarized themselves with maintenance tools. The training goal was to enable DELIGHT users to prepare and upload geodata into the system to keep the data basis up-to-date.

The next user training will be most probably held in November this year.
