- 2008 PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in Natural Sciences, Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg
- 2005 – 2007 PhD candidate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) within the Helmholtz-EOS Research network
