In July of 2015, researchers from IGSNRR and Yellow River Basin Water Resources Protection Bureau set up 5 auto-observation stations for monitoring the groundwater dynamics of the Yellow River Delta. One of the stations in the Huanghekou Nature Reserve included a set of lysimeter for measuring vertical water flux in the reed wetlands.
Furthermore, Ph.D. students from IGSNRR implemented a field survey of small-relief marsh morphology in the YRD using TLS (Terrestrial Laser Scanner).
